Summary

This tool is for the estimation of carbon benefits from Plan Vivo projects aiming to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in community managed forests. There is no geographical restriction on the use of this tool. Procedures are described for estimating expected emissions or carbon benefits at the start of a verification period, and for verification of emissions or carbon benefits at the end of the verification period.
