This year has been a busy one! The highlights include; hosting our 25th Anniversary celebration event, which doubled as our biennial Stakeholder Meeting; the release of the updated and ICROA-endorsed Plan Vivo Standard (V5.0); and welcoming multiple new staff members to the Plan Vivo team.

It was back in the 1990s in Chiapas, Mexico, that the name Plan Vivo (or 'living plan') was first coined. Working directly with smallholder farmers, plans were mapped out showing how their land could be used in a different way - to deliver positive impact for nature, climate and communities.

25 years on, the voluntary carbon market has grown and changed, yet Plan Vivo's values (keeping smallholder farmers and communities at the centre of project design, implementation, and benefit) remain the same.

Our aim to scale the Plan Vivo model tenfold in the next five years is ambitious, but behind the scenes we have a dynamic team eager to take Plan Vivo into 2023 and beyond.
