The Plan Vivo Foundation has published it's most recent Annual Report FY 2020 - 2021.

The report includes impact data of the Foundation and Plan Vivo-certified projects, including new projects registered in 2020 - 2021. An  introduction from our Chair Julian Gayfer is followed by a forward from Plan Vivo's CEO Keith Bohannon, who talks about the growth, impact and potential of the Plan Vivo Foundation (highlighting our 53% increase in income over the last year).

Plan Vivo have had many successes over the past financial year. Our impact continues to filter through social, environmental and financial channels, benefitting those at the forefront of the climate crisis.

The success of the past year is echoed in our numbers:

  • Plan Vivo topped 5 million tonnes of COplanned emission reductions, an increase in over 1 million tCO2 in the last year alone.
  • Over 3.5 million trees have been planted as part of sustainable ecosystem restoration and rehabilitation with 175,000 ha of land now under sustainable land management and over 133,000 ha under conservation.
  • In addition, a total of ~ 90,000 people (communities and smallholders) have now benefitted from increased livelihood opportunities and strengthened resilience.

Our Annual Report also focuses upon the impact of Plan Vivo projects with regards to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as outlined above.

The report includes other highlights, discussing forward-thinking partnerships. We recently announced Plan Vivo's exciting partnership with Rabobank, and formal certification of their Acorn Framework. We were also thrilled to receive notable recognition for our efforts, being announced as winners of international law firm Clifford Chance's inaugural Sustainable Development Goals Award.
