zeroCARBON – Guatemala

About the project
zeroCARBON is a carbon removal project fighting deforestation by regenerating ecosystems developed by zeroCO2 in collaboration with local farming communities in Petén, Guatemala.
By transforming land use from extensive livestock farming and degraded agricultural areas to forestry and agroforestry systems, zeroCARBON seeks to increase biomass, regenerate ecosystems and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for the local communities.
What I value most is that the project not only provides trees but also knowledge. Through the trainings, I learned how to manage my trees better and I continue reforesting every year since I started in 2020. My dream is for my sons and grandchildren to keep caring for the trees and for them to bring future benefits to our family and community.
