Data Analytics Providers

A Data Analytics Provider is an independent third-party organisation approved by Plan Vivo to carry out biodiversity data analysis for PV Nature projects. They calculate the metrics needed to quantify biodiversity benefits and Plan Vivo Biodiversity Certificates (PVBCs), helping to ensure transparent, rigorous, and credible results.

PV Nature projects require high-integrity, evidence-based data to measure biodiversity outcomes consistently. Data Analytics Providers ensure that analyses are robust, auditable, and based on approved methodologies, giving confidence to project teams, funders, and buyers.

To be approved, organisations must demonstrate the capability to analyse biodiversity data according to PV Nature requirements, and in line with the PV Nature Methodology. This includes capability to calculate biodiversity metrics and PVBCs using evidence‑driven and auditable processes.

Prospective providers must first have a scoping call with Plan Vivo, before submitting an application with the required supporting documentation to biodiversity@planvivofoundation.org. 

Once approved, providers are listed on a publicly accessible roster of Plan Vivo-approved Data Analytics Providers.

When a project contracts a Data Analytics Provider, a Conflict of Interest (COI) form must be submitted to Plan Vivo before any analysis begins to ensure impartiality and maintain credibility.
