Consultation on new Guidance Document: “Reducing locally-driven deforestation”

The Plan Vivo Foundation is pleased to invite your comments on a new ‘Guidance Document for Reducing Locally-Driven Deforestation’, which has been released for consultation today for 30 days. This period, finishing on the 5th November, should give interested stakeholders an opportunity to provide feedback for consideration. The Foundation will then review all comments and submit the finalised document to the Technical Advisory Committee for final approval.

This guidance document is intended as a way to construct a Technical Specification (Section G of the PDD template) under the latest version of the Plan Vivo Standard (2013). Projects that follow this document are not guaranteed to be approved, as they must meet all other aspects of the Plan Vivo Standard including many requirements not touched on in this document. However, this approach will meet the requirements of the Standard if followed correctly.

The guidance document for consultation can be downloaded here. Please send any feedback in a word document – indicating the section and paragraph to which you are referring – to:

I hope you will participate in the review, and please do not hesitate to contact me in the meantime with any questions.

Many thanks!

Chris Stephenson, Director.
