Plan Vivo systems ensure that each unit of carbon credit generated can be traced back to a specific producer of communtity group. The PlanVivo.org reporting framwork also ensures that investors and purchasers can clearly assess the stage of development, achievements and obstacles faced for the proejct. The Plan Vivo system is also designed to facilitate external verification of projects.
One method of ensuring buyer transparency is to include a buyer register which can be viewed by all buyers and by the producers to ensure double counting does not occur.
